Modern Coastal Retreat
Tucked behind the gates of one of 30A’s most coveted communities, this Watersound home underwent a comprehensive renovation, transforming every level into a serene yet sophisticated coastal sanctuary. What began as a charming but dated beach house is now a refined retreat, tailored for luxury living, effortless entertaining, and everyday functionality.
The heart of the home, the kitchen, was thoughtfully reimagined to better serve a modern lifestyle. We removed heavy finishes and reconfigured the island layout . New arched entry frames the newly appointed coffee bar. Sleek countertops, hand - selected tile backsplash, and a warm wood V - groove ceiling replaced the original tin, elevating the space with layered texture and light. Updated undercabinet and pendant lighting completes this inviting space.
In the adjacent living room , the transformation centered around light and flow. The fireplace wall was rebuilt to accommodate taller windows and custom cabinetry, while the exis ting shell stone finish was refined with a smoother, plaster - style treatment. Screened doors and outdoor clutter were removed to simplify the lines and enhance views, seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor living.
The outdoor grill area was completely ov erhauled to include Naturekast cabinetry, a new gas grill, and stone counters and backsplash — creating a durable and stylish space for alfresco cooking and coastal gatherings.
One of the home’s standout additions is the new wet bar, built into a formerly un used space. Complete with custom cabinetry, stone surfaces, an ice maker, beverage cooler, and artisan tile, the bar now serves as an elegant hub for entertaining.
The master suite was elevated with timeless finishes and thoughtful enhancements. In the bedroom, paneled ceilings and wall shakes were replaced with smooth wood and drywall finishes, complemented by new lighting and electrical for bedside sconces. The bathroom was fully gutted and reimagined — featuring a freestanding tub, walk - in shower with custom glass, new tile, vanity, and a soft plaster texture to replace the former shell detail. Wallpaper adds an upscale final touch to this private retreat.
Each additional bedroom and bathroom received its own custom updates — from recessed lighting and pocket doors to new tile, vanities, built - ins, and fixtures — ensuring every corner of the home is consistent in quality and style. The bunk room was carefully designed with built - in bunks, each complete with its own lighting and power source, making it both fun a nd functional for guests or family.
The laundry room was completely reworked to accommodate two sets of stackable washer/dryers, with all - new cabinetry, counters, and tile finishes. Hallways, closets, and even the third - floor playroom saw intentional upgra des, including new closet systems, TV built - ins, and updated plumbing and lighting fixtures.
From foundation to finishing touches, this Watersound renovation brought a fresh, cohesive vision to life — pairing timeless coastal aesthetics with smart, livable d esign that suits both everyday rhythms and relaxed entertaining.
